Working in Ayia Napa
Firstly you should be aware that 99% of the people working in Ayia Napa work illegally. Officially any employee in Cyprus must have a residents permit and pay social insurance contributions. Unofficially thousands of people work on a casual basis every year without any problems. Employers will not register casual staff who may only last a week or a month. The local police and government are always trying to crack down on illegal and unregistered employees and will issue on the spot fines regularly. The majority of the time these fines are paid by the employer but the very occasionally a not so nice boss may make the worker pay the fine themselves.
